Mucha resented being presented as an ‘Art Nouveau’ artist because he believed his art to be eternal. Something that holds true today, his unique style continues to influence others. His line-work and attention to detail come from learning how to draw at an early age to develop his craft.

Mucha was one of the first artist captured by Nazis during Gestapo. After leaving intense interrogations, on July 14, 1939, frail Mucha ending up passing away. 100,000 people attended Mucha’s funeral, despite a nazi ban on the event. This goes to show the amount of love people had for this visionary. They were willing to risk their own lives to attend a funeral.
